Challenges

Identifying Key Issues

In this phase, we tackled key challenges like minimizing power consumption for solar-based operation, enabling real-time data transfer with low energy overhead, calibrating ground sensors for reliable accuracy, and designing a clean UI that clearly presents environmental data across all devices.

Goal

Defining Our Vision

The goal was to support olive farmers by providing real-time weather and soil data, helping them make informed decisions about irrigation and care. By tracking parameters like soil moisture and rainfall, farmers can respond proactively to changing conditions and optimize their cultivation practices.

PROJECT OUTCOME

Development

Strategies Used

For development, we calculated available sunlight based on location data to size the solar panel and battery correctly. The backend was built as a modular Node.js platform for scalability, while the hardware combined an ESP8266 microcontroller with an A9G GSM module to ensure low-power, remote data transmission.

Result

Outcome Delivered

The outcome was the successful delivery and installation of four stations across the city of Bar, providing stable performance and real-time data. The platform proved reliable, and customer feedback confirmed satisfaction with both the system’s accuracy and usability.
